children at our center
Children of all ages are at the heart of our life together atChurch of Our Saviour. We honor their ability to love and trust without reserve. We delight in their ability to listen imaginatively. We value their ability to question and to speak with candor. Their playfulness brings joy and life into our midst.
Our programs offer an environmentwhere:
- Your child is known and loved
- Your child's safety is our first concern
- Teachers are well-prepared
- Your child will learn our biblical story and our worship traditions in a loving peer community.
our Sunday School program

Each Sunday, after a brief – ten minute – Children’s Worship (with the whole family!) at 9:45 am in Grace Chapel with Rev. Peg, children in grades K-5 move to the 2nd floor of Brown Hall (the building just west of Grace Chapel). Children are divided into groups by their grade level: currently, K-2 meet in Room 202 and Grades 3-5 meet in Room 203. Younger children gather with our child care workers in Allan Hall. And older youth join their families in church.
The curriculum we employ for primary grades is based upon several Episcopal Church religious education resources, and on our experienced teachers’ years of experience in communicating the Gospel message to children.

the arts in our life
WWe have two fun and professionally led children's choirs, and are just beginning a third choir for middle school ages. The children’s choirs put on two Musicals each year: our not-to-be-missed Christmas pageant, and our Spring Musical in June.

children's worship in Grace Chapel
For FAMILIES with pre-K to 5th grade children
The WHOLE FAMILY is invited to share in Children’s Worship at 9:45 in Grace Chapel. This a very brief gathering of song and prayer, a Gospel story and a blessing to prepare the children for class and the family for Sunday worship. At the close of Children's Worship, children proceed to their Classrooms in Brown Hall until 10:40 when their teachers lead them over to church to join the family for Communion.
children's choirs
Our children's music program offers children from 5 to 13 years of age a chance to participate in an energetic ensemble under the professional leadership of Suzanne Anderson. The Gospel Cherubs (grades K-2) and The Star Chorus (grades 3-7) include basic musicianship skills, rhythm and movement, playing hand chimes and percussion instruments, as well as learning the great hymns and service music of our Anglican tradition. Very soon, the older children in Star Chorus will form a new, and even more challenging choir! The Choirs sing regularly in the 10 am Sunday service as well as for special events.
